Tree House (2006) by Jeremy Hatch (porcelain, 9′x11′x11′)
I was going through my posts and realized that I had not posted about this work. Because it was such a technical feat and I learned a great deal from it, and because I contributed (in some small way - helping make the molds) to this project, it is very special to me. I have always known that ceramic is a very sexual material but it is usually presented in a more subtle way. This work makes it explicit without making it tacky or tasteless. Now only if she comes up with the teapot the set will be complete.

Found: Andrea Walsh
February 29th, 2008 | fine arts, sculpture
I have always loved the look and feel of a paper-thin porcelain work, and I have always enjoyed a piece of work that is ambiguous in its functionality. So, it’s no wonder that Andrea Walsh’s vessels immediately capture my attention. How great would it be to actually use these fragile vessels to drink? More images after the click.
