I searched around for more information on this work and couldn’t find much more than a name (Nele Azavedo), the same image on different blogs, and an youtube video. I wish I knew the language spoken in the video to know more about this work. For now, jump to see the video.

This is a simple way to solve the age-old problem of “how do I take my pet goldfish out and show him/her the world?”.  And it looks good on the table too.  Follow the link to Flickr to check out more photos of Michal Shabtiali’s project.

Would anyone think of the penguins?

We all know about global warming, and many of us are working together to remedy the situation. 50graus’ installation is simple and to the point, which is elegant in its execution.

However, it is somewhat baffling to me that people need to see how climate change can affect penguins, whereas all the reports on how climate change can affect human lives fall on deaf ears. This is by no means criticizing 50graus’ artistic choice, but a commentary to what seems to be effective to gather people’s attention. I was browsing though reddit and saw this project and thought to myself, “wow, never expect to see installation work on reddit” and decided to check it out. It’s actually quite cool in its own quirky way. I like the graphic design on most packaging even though I feel that products from the future should have packaging methods that are a bit more unconventional to people of 21st century. Also, the logo for the store is a bit tame for such a bold claim. Still, it sure is a fun project to work on and you should check it out. More photos after the jump and there’s even a video if you follow the link to the site.

It’s an installation from 2003 so you might already know about it. For those who don’t, I feel that it is better for me not to say anything and politely ask you to follow the link and read about it. (I still get chills thinking about it.)
