As beautiful as it is…

April 28th, 2008 | furniture

I don’t think I can have one at home sitting there, waiting and calling for me to sit or lie down on it.  Maybe when I gets to be 80 years old.  Or just having a bad day.  Hmm, come to think of it, I actually do want one now.  Oh, it costs a small sum of change that is 4,500 dollars.

Also, I think some one needs to register millionairegoth.com domain per boing boing, and fast.

Continuing from part 1 of the talk, I am posting the rest of the slides. I realized that this isn’t the best format to present a talk, and will come up with something better next time. Continue to see more images and some captions. Read more »

April 4th, 2008 | fine arts

As promised, I am putting up a post (actually 2) on Denise Pelletier’s talk yesterday at Emily Carr. Instead of some by-the-minute recap, I am only putting up images for you to see. Before you go and look at the images, let me just say that her work revolves around two major themes: sex and death. And her medium of choice is ceramics because it’s “accessible, intimate, and abstract.” Jump to see the many photos. Read more »

When I see an interesting work/design, I have a tendency to want to at least try the same idea out in ceramic.  Not for this wool skull sculpture though.  I think its material of choice is perfect for its concept. Very well done.  Jump to see one more image and the links. Read more »

It’s an installation from 2003 so you might already know about it. For those who don’t, I feel that it is better for me not to say anything and politely ask you to follow the link and read about it. (I still get chills thinking about it.)
