As much as I like the plastic toys (and it’s quite a bit) I am not really sure how it is possible that they can use Star Wars character design here. I know for parody and satire purposes it’s alright to reappropriate copyrighted material, but I didn’t how you can make money from it. OR can I? I guess I don’t know enough of the copyright/fair use laws.
Oh they are limited edition products, maybe that’s the trick. Go get it while supply lasts.

I love the models and the posters even more; however, at 330.- each I can only drool over it for now.
*if you look at the images, it’s very well done and detailed, so the $330.- price tag might not be all that bad.

Craig Ward’s painted Russian dolls for Weiden + Kennedy is an interpretation of the poem/lyrics “There was an old lady who swallowed a fly.” I never heard of such a song so naturally I googled and found it on wikipedia. After reading it, I have to say that Russian dolls are perfect for this song, and the bright orange neon paint doesn’t hurt either.

I doubt seeing brains jump is anyone’s secret fantasy. It, however, doesn’t mean that the jumping brains, made by Spanish designer Emilio Garcia, is not high on my list of to-buy designer toys. If you are interested, you really have to hurry since the first production run is only 120 pieces for each colour according to plastic and plush. One more image and link after the jump (… hey that’s neat.)
