1000 is the magic number

It’s great to see the Long Tail theory put in use and gives us a magic number: 1000. Basically the article calculates and theorizes that if an artist/designer is able to get a following of 1000 true fans*. He or she will be able to lead a comfortable life doing what he or she loves, which is producing contents.
* a true fan is defined to be someone who will buy whatever the artist/designer produces.
